Call me a bath connoisseur!  I get my most creative ideas, in the tub! So, not only am I getting clean, I'm inspired!

Epsom Salts are very popular among the athletes. It is known to help lose that water weight that makes us feel bloated. You can lose upto 2 kgs in one bath! Unbelievable isn’t it? By my experience I have always lost 1.5 kgs after every bath. (also re-gained after drinking loads of water).

Taking a bath with these two natural compounds à Epsom Salt + Baking Soda - is believed to cleanse and purify the body. It is a fabulous detox bath while eliminating toxins and absorbing minerals and nutrients from the bath water.

Epsom salts have amazing health benefits - really! When magnesium sulfate is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more.

Other than adding it to recipes to make the batter rise, you probably just let the box sit in your cupboard among your other baking supplies. But, baking soda, which is also known as Sodium Bicarbonate, is much more than a baking supply.

How to take a Epsom salt + Baking Soda Bath:

Soaking in Epsom salts ( magnesium sulfate) actually helps replenish the body’s magnesium levels. The sulfate flushes toxins and helps form proteins in brain tissue and joints. Epsom salt is very inexpensive.

Add 1 cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Baking soda is known for its cleansing ability and even has antifungal properties. The baking soda will leave your skin refreshed and silky smooth.

Soak away the day’s stresses for 20- 40 minutes. For me, I can tell when a detox bath is especially effective when the following changes occur in my body 10-20 minutes into the bath: my heart rate increases, I feel uncomfortable, my feet throb. I get out when I can’t stand it anymore or when the peak of these changes passes. The trick is to drink plenty of water before and during the bath, especially if you’re feeling overheated from the tub water.

Benefits of Epsom salt + Baking Soda Bath:

·      Helps in weight loss, gets rid of that water weight
·      Relaxing and sedative bath
·      Flushes toxins and heavy metals from the skin, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances.
·       Relieves stress.
·      Enhanced sleep through the effects of the hot bath and magnesium.
·      Elevates mood creating a feeling of well being and relaxation.

I LOVE my detox baths!!! I can't imagine NOT doing them. Whether am feeling tired, lethargic or not I don’t need a reason to soak in the warm, welcoming, relaxing bath!
